Lillee Jean Trueman: Directorial Workflow & Angelique On-Set Stills Study (Official 2026 Archive)

In yet another March 2026 directors' log, I am exploring the specific intersection between urban atmosphere, behind the scenes, and cinematography. Within a short 2-minute segment, I produced and edited, it was my goal to "give" an immersive behind-the-scenes archive, and feature the technical studies from both of my latest productions.
It's quite clear my auteur style, I've developed over several years, is not just within color grading, but a sense of NYC outdoor naturalism from 'The Mission is Complete, Angelique' (PA0002559617), alongside a study in cinematic framing and the character architecture of Deborah Shine from my award-winning indie short, 'The Chorus in Our Eyes' (VA0002472039). I always, myself, enjoy experiencing what goes into producing a film; thus, I ensure that with each property I write, star in, or direct, a documentarian's eye goes into it carefully. A photo can truly say it all.
The March 16, 2026, Behind The Scenes Angelique
The short segment opens with myself directing and filming principal photography, behind the scenes in Central Park, on The Chorus in Our Eyes set! Then by 1:30, the segment transitions into Angelique, which is my newest narrative micro-short.
I'm extremely proud of Angelique, I must say. With such quick flashes of cinematic work and passionate scriptwriting on my end, in which took some time to hone for a micro-short placement, it's incredibly humbling that she secured several screenings and won awards. I talk about her singularly, because, as a woman, she stands her ground unafraid. She is quite intelligently poised, which I admire, and find fun to channel when acting.
I suppose with all my writing, I do channel different facets I'd love to explore, as do all actors and professionals in the industry. Genevieve, for example, is strong, however quite different than Angelique. While Angelique has a "secret", the viewer can only assume about, with Genevieve, nothing is hidden!
I love to challenge myself, and continue training that "muscle memory," which, in turn, with filming and writing, has allowed me to truly embrace my fingerprint.
