An exploration through my work with the short film Angelique through a film noir lens! In this March 2026 production cycle, following my recent production log with So Lillo Qui Genevieve, I'm commencing the continuation of my director archives series. The focus for today is centered on the visual structure of The Mission is Complete, Angelique. Specifically, with a focus on raw nature and the grit of New York City, my home.

By utilizing natural, high-contrast lighting outdoors, I prove that real cinema needs no hue - my directorial goal is to allow the environment to act as a secondary character.
For Angelique, with my screenplay, it truly was simple. Nature speaks. These three stills captured in my directorial post-production suite represent the bridge to my upcoming global festival slate.
Within the archive, using a film noir approach, focus transitions from the lens to the post-production suite, where I show a small directorial work space, facilitating a look at my timelines. I'm a hands-on professional, I suppose, thanks to years of training. From script to screen, I thought it'd be interesting as an indie filmmaker to demonstrate the precise layering and color grading required to achieve the "Angelique" aesthetic, even in film noir, a style I adore.
