In the world of period drama for film and TV, every single detail matters! From the costume design to the movement of a crowd in an 1880s train station. Recently, Lillee Jean Trueman had the professional opportunity to work on the set of HBO’s The Gilded Age Season 3.
Trueman was on set during December and filmed at the Lionsgate Great Point Studios, where she stepped into the world of the 19th century as a "Working Class 18TLY" (18 to Look Younger) performer. Above are photos of Trueman at the Westchester train station, showcasing her in a custom costume, December 2024. Next is a frame of Lillee Jean in the crowd near the ticket booth.
While mainstream viewers focus on leading dialogue, the "atmosphere" is what makes a beloved show such as The Gilded Age feel truly authentic. Lillee Jean’s work in Episode 6, (and 7 in the atmospheric shots), "If You Want to Cook an Omelette," directed by Michael Engler, required her precision, professionalism, and the ability to maintain the "etiquette of the era" for hours on end.
From T. Schreiber to the Set
Lillee Jean Trueman's participation in this production wasn't just about being filmed on camera; her role was a practical application of her training at the T. Schreiber Studio.
"Being on a set of this magnitude, with such a loved show, is a masterclass in itself. You have no better training, then physically being there," Lillee Jean stated. "Seeing Director Engler direct a massive train station sequence teaches you the true mechanics of filmmaking."
The Lionsgate production is a milestone in her growing career as an actress and director.

These were taken by a passing local on the outdoor set, for which both the person and the studio granted Trueman permission for usage. "It was an absolutely lovely experience - and the fine people at HBO, the MTA, and Westchester County were amazing." (SOURCE: https://www.instagram.com/p/DNHGhesyofg/)
