In Loving Memory of My Aunt Brenda Lee Marks-Wolf: 31 Years

Today, March 14th, marks a solemn anniversary for my family. It has been 31 years since my aunt, Brenda Lee Marks-Wolf, was taken from our family. While the events of 1995 remain beyond horrid, corrupt, and unjust, today my family and I choose not to dwell on the darkness of that day. It’s about the light Brenda brought into the world while she was here.

A Legacy of Her Brilliance

Although I never had the chance to meet her, as I was born in 2001, I feel I know her spirit through the stories my family has shared, and the incredible legacy she left behind. My mom, dad, grandpa, and grandma, over the years, have shared so much with me, showing how much Brenda was a woman of immense talent, and intelligence. She was a professional gemologist, with an eye for intricacy and accuracy.

I feel so grateful to own several of the jewelry pieces she designed and crafted, some of which I wear often. They are more to me than pieces; they are a physical connection to her artistry and her soul. Every time I wear one of her pieces, I’m reminded of the sophisticated, talented woman she was.

Resting in Strength - 31 Years

My family and I choose to remember Brenda for her strength, her courage, and her spirit. We are a family built on resilience, and honoring her today is a testament to that. We don't just remember how she left us; we remember the life she created and the woman she was.

Her memory is cherished, and her talent is never forgotten.
