Can you tell our readers what it is about the work you’re doing that’s disruptive?

"If I didn’t know better, it would have alarmed me to say I am disruptive, but when I rationalized out, the concept, being “disruptive innovative”, well that’s me, and what I think is making me a shaker up in the industry, I realize, I really am a disruptor.

I don’t believe in following the same beaten paths as others that have come before me. I am the type of person that wants to take my “brand”, which is me, to another level. There are lots of beauty Youtuber’s, but what I am trying to do, is go beyond the makeup tutorials. I want to be so much more to my community, to my fans. I believe that giving back can be as simple as talking with your fans online. I am a one-on-one person, so my fans are my priority. I’m not saying that this is not, for others that are in the same business, but I literally try to get to every single person on my social platforms, and if I can’t reach them that way, I try to do as much live video streams, so we can talk and share. Another part of me, is the advocacy I have for various issues. As a whole, the beauty community tends to stick to gossip, makeup, tutorials, and challenges. This to me is not something that intrigues me, it never has. If I can tell a different story, while doing something I love, then I have made a difference, set myself apart from the others that have come before me, or after me.

Being disruptive to me is telling people about online bullying, in the same breath that I am reviewing a product. Having a real conversation about the environment, or even other issues, such as the economy, that we are all facing since the pandemic, this is a disruptor. To continue, a disruptor to me, is somebody who cares enough to literally tip the scales, and maybe go out on the limb, even at the cost of what someone else might deem as unpopular, to take that moment, and share, and teach as you grow." - Lillee Jean
